29. Juni 2022, 11:00 Uhr, Hörsaal (Raum 308),
Institut für Kunst im Kontext, Einsteinufer 43-53, 10587 Berlin
The artist will present some images of his work of the past fifteen years in the context of art, cultural and pedagogical institutions and also share some references to understand playfullness as part of brazilian and latin American identity.
Gui Teixeira researches approximations between art and pedagogy, between game/playing and the political action. Challenges the audience in collaborative bodily actions. He explores the languages of drawing, painting, photography, video, sculpture, object, installations. Believes in the playful character of art as a powerful element that establishes communities and conscious individuals. Teixeira was born in 1977, in São Paulo, lives and works in Piracicaba-SP. In 1999 graduated in Fine Arts from Fundação Armando Álvares Penteado and in 2010 completed a master's degree in Visual Arts from the School of Communication and Arts at São Paulo University. His work has been exhibited in some brazilians art institutions such as Itaú Cultural, CCBB in Brasília, Rio Art Museum.
