Dr. Luiza Prado de O. Martins is an artist and researcher whose work engages with technologies and practices of birth control and their entanglements with colonial hierarchies of gender, race, ethnicity, class, and nationality. Her current artistic research project, „A Topography of Excesses,“ examines the transmission of indigenous and folk knowledges on herbalist practices and reproduction as decolonising forms of radical care. In 2019, her most current project „The Councils of the Pluriversal: Affective Temporalities of Reproduction and Climate Change“ was awarded the Transmediale/Vilém Flusser Residency and the Dieter Ruckhaberle Preis.
