Delaine Le Bas was born in Worthing, U.K, in 1965. She studied at St Martins School Of Art London. Delaine is a cross disciplinary artist creating installations, performance, photography and film. Her works focus on issues of identity, race, gender, sexuality and the continued violence and exclusions against whoever is perceived as “the other” within society. Delaine was one of the artists of the Berlin Biennale 2020 creating St Sara Kali George, a mixed media installation for The Storefront For Dissident Bodies. 2020/2021 Delaine was the visiting professor at the Art in Context Institute, Berlin University of the Arts.
She is currently Co-Curator of the 2nd Roma Biennale. Under the motto WE ARE HERE!, it started on 8th April 2021, the 50th anniversary of World Romaday. In five chapters, the Biennale will develop the vision of deep solidarity in a radically diverse and just society.
